Role Overview

We are looking for a surveyor to carry out accurate and thorough site surveys of window and door openings including sills and trims, and confirming floor levels as needed. You’ll inspect each site methodically to provide these details and discuss the project specification with the clients if required. This could include efficiently managing and discussing technical details or advising on the company’s product range and site activities, including installation requirements. Sometimes, you might need to create drawings for production, or of fitting and building details.

You’ll be a core part of our vibrant operation, communicating your site survey details to the order processing team, advising them on technical matters – and any changes to sizes – to ensure the order goes smoothly. When the order is manufactured and installation is scheduled, you’ll liaise with our Operations and Installation teams to ensure that details are communicated and clearly understood, and may assist with resolving technical problems on site.

The role is part home/office based with regular site visits across the southern UK to carry out surveys and confirm technical details, so a clean driving license is a must. You’ll be provided with a company vehicle.

Key Behaviours for this role

We are looking for someone who believes in our customer-focused attitude. You’ll enjoy discussing project details - and representing the company professionally - when dealing with clients, design teams and others, adapting to meet client needs.

Within the company, and among your colleagues, you’re an excellent communicator and a caring team player.
You will ideally be experienced in building and/or joinery industry practices, processes, and requirements – we’d particularly love to see experience in relation to windows and doors – and you’re motivated to expand and sharpen your skillset.

You’ll have at least 3 years’ proven relevant experience and a reasonable working knowledge of Building Regulations. You view each project as unique, and tackle technical challenges with relish and a diligent, methodical eye. Above all, care and accuracy are critical.

You’re well-organised with the ability to prioritise a varied workload, have normal computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and ideally can produce drawings in CAD or similar.

In summary, you’re enthusiastic and dedicated to delivering exceptional service to help Norrsken be an exemplary window supplier.

Salary £ 45,000 to £60,000 depending on skills and experience
