Design Choices
The vast array of side-hung
windows, tilt and turn windows,
sliding doors, bi-fold doors and large fixed screens allow natural daylight to flood the living areas, whilst the solar control glass maximises thermal efficiency and prevents overheating. The colour scheme of the products is clean and crisp, both internally and externally. Externally, the windows and doors are RAL9001 (Cream) and internally they are RAL9003 (Signal White).
Technical Complexity
One of the greatest challenges that Norrsken faced on this project was to ensure that all of the ground floor (GF) and first floor (FF) units lined through correctly. This was certainly the case when considering the large triple track slider and the fixed screen above. There were similar challenges with the windows, as the FF windows were inward opening and the GF windows were outward opening, the team had to ensure that the profiles were carefully aligned.
Norrsken also had to take into account a number of practical considerations. For example, some of the windows had an infill panel design and they had to ensure that the units didn’t get too heavy and that the panels were correctly situated right in front of the finished floor levels.
